Marshall Arts District
French Broad Fridays
June 13, 5 to midnight
Mark your calendars!!! June 13th is Downtown Marshall’s coming out party! Come on out and join us for food, dancing, shopping, performances, river activities, and more. You’ve seen the postcards circulating, you’ve heard the buzz, now be a part of Marshall’s renaissance.
Events are still in the planning but so far we have many of Marshall’s shops staying open until 9 for your shopping pleasure. Discover something fun for your home in Feather Your Nest and get everything from tasty treats to a pair of jeans at Penland’s. At Good Stuff you can grab a beverage and sit around the picnic table for a chat or rent a movie and grab some snacks for Saturday night. There is plenty of entertainment to choose from, too. Zuma has Sherri Lynn playing from 7 to 9. At the Taqueria you can enjoy Secret B Side playing from 6 to 8 on the patio. There is the usual dancing at the Depot, and Marshall High Studios is hosting a dance in the auditorium with Blue Wing from 9 until midnight (maybe later if we just can’t stop dancing) and you will even be able to buy a beer or a glass of wine at the Taqueria, Good Stuff, and Marshall High Studios.
Art lovers can check out the offerings of the Marshall High Studios artists from 7-9 and Hill Street Studios, New Z Art and Madison County Arts Council will also be open for visitors. Be sure to check out Firewalker Gallery and Wild Moon Gallery, too. Visit the website at www.MadisonCountyArts.org for a listing of all of the individual studios that will be open. You can grab a bite to eat at Zuma, the Taqueria, and Good Stuff. For the sporting types among us, Redneck Rafter will be having some short classes and demos to help keep us safe on the water. There is just too much fun to list it all so you will just have to come out and see for yourself. And because we know it’s going to be so much fun we are going to do it again, every second Friday through October so if you have an event you would like to include just talk to any committee member (there are lots of us so just ask around) and we will get it on the schedule. The more the merrier and merry making is what we are up to these days.
