In a vote of 3 to 2, Madison County Commissioners approved rezoning to allow a concrete plant on the outskirts of Marshall. Eddie Fox motioned to approve the proposal, Vernon Ponder seconded the motion. Ed Wyatt was the 3rd vote which approved the plant. Debbie Ponder and Billy Roberts opposed the motion for rezoning.
The chamber of the court room was almost filled to capacity with a seeming split of about 60% opposed to the rezoning and about 40% in favor of the rezoning.
It appears a court battle is looming as to the procedural nature of rezoning process. Opponents of the rezoning filed a last minute petition objecting to numerous discrepancies in the way the whole process had been handled.

I think that it is great what happened last ngiht. I could'nt believe how ignorant some people really are. I just feel that the outcome after last nights hearing is going to be beneficial to the communtity. I can't imagine the decision going any other way.
It's amusing that someone with atrocious grammar & spelling considers others to be "ignorant".
Aside from that..yesterday was a sad day for Marshall.
