Marshall, North Carolina may have ceased to exist, except perhaps, as a small happy spot in one's mind. Or it may still be there - defying all logic and common sense. It was fun!

Sounds like Marshall, NC is an American Brigadoon....
But indeed it's not. A town revitalizing with a great citizenry and vision, Marshall grows and thrives.
True enough. It's home for me but unfortunately I'm far from there now. Miss the town but mostly the people. Can't think of a town in Western North Carolina where I'd rather ramble.
I wish you were still there to show us around the town, Ben. We just moved here from Florida, and will be moving to Hill Street on Tuesday. We don't know a single soul, but your blog has given us hope that it won't be long before friends abound. Thanks for you words! I'm sure the town misses you as much as you miss the town.
